Shiatsu: More than 500 hours of course study required;

Human Anatomy: 50 hours

Anatomy is the study of the structures and functional design of the human body. Our course is focused on the musculoskeletal system. The Anatomy course provides students an essential foundation for upcoming courses and clinical experiences.

Pathophysiology: 50 hours

Physiology is the study of how the body works at the level of cells, basic tissues, and organs. Pathophysiology extends this investigation to examine the ways in which body tissues become diseased or dysfunctional. These foundation courses introduce the student to pathophysiology of all of the body systems, begin to examine some systems in more detail, and focus on cross-system fundamentals like injury/inflammation/repair, infectious disease, immunity and autoimmunity, cancer development, and so on.

Oriental Medicine and Shiatsu Theory: 50 hours

This course details the history and philosophy of oriental medicine and shiatsu theory including Yin-Yang theory, five element theory, fundamental substances, meridians, organs, causes of disease, patterns of disharmony, diagnosis, and rationale of treatment.

Shiatsu Fundamentals: 50 hours

This course provides the complete basic skills of shiatsu treatment and preparations involved in creating safe and clean clinical environment for the clients.

Shiatsu Treatment: 100 hours

This course covers practical aspects of meridian theory, diagnostic procedures, treatment of specific conditions, the client-therapist relationship, and treatment strategies and reports.

Ethics: 5 hours

The code of ethics of clinical practice, and relevant aspects of law are discussed in this course.

Business: 10 hours

This course introduces the student to basic concepts of practice management to aid in the operation of a successful practice. Topics include bookkeeping, taxation, marketing, advertising techniques, public relations, and goal setting

Therapeutic Relationship: 10 hours

These courses focus on development of the verbal and non-verbal skills needed to collaborate effectively with clients and other health care practitioners.

Remedial Exercise: 25 hours

This course provides various aspects of self-care, which help maintain good physical and mental health for therapists, and increases the effectiveness of treatment for their clients.
Students learn the principles behind stretching, strengthening, mobilization, and aerobic activity in order to be able to effectively incorporate remedial exercise prescription into their work with clients.

Student Clinic: 100 hours

Student Clinic is a supervised setting that creates the opportunity to experience clinical practice in a learning environment. Knowledge and experience gained from other courses is put into practice in Student Clinic.

Other: 50 hours

Student Clinic: 100 hours

Student Clinic is a supervised setting that creates the opportunity to experience clinical practice in a learning environment. Knowledge and experience gained from other courses is put into practice in Student Clinic.

Candidates must have successfully completed a minimum 200 hour aromatherapy program, including the aromatherapy lymphatic drainage massage component, and required to submit a detailed copy of their aromatherapy course outline, including bodywork, marks, other aromatherapy related courses and/or workshops.
